Subject: The amputation scene and the flogging were hard to watch. The scene with Claire and BJR had me mesmerized. His disaffection with war made me think, is this why he's so twisted? I thought maybe there is a decent man deep down...but NO! The real BJR roared back with the punch to Claire and making Hawkins kick her. When I read the books I pictured Hawkins to be older, not a young soldier. Dougal s "grind your corn" comment made me laugh out loud. Now we await the wedding and I can't wait.
