Subject: Jeez, I feel kind of creepy that I LOVED the flogging scene. Especially with BJR's narration. It was like watching Criminal Minds. The scene that had me turning away was the amputation---all that screaming just made my stomach lurch. I loved the way BJR slipped in the blood and the flaps of skin tearing loose---it was amazing artistry by the SPFX folks. (I knew Sam was fine!) When BJR talked about the connection, the tingle he felt through the whip....I know I have read that somewhere in another book (not DG) but I can't remember where. Cait was brilliant, but Tobias portrayed a perfect psychopath. Much scarier than the BJR in the book.

My level of creep tolerance has gone down. I love at the very end the almost 'hungry' gestures and facial expressions he gave, I think it was when he punched Claire and the soldier was kicking her. Just really spot on tics. *shudder* -- TracyAnn, 10:15:41 09/15/14 Mon
