Subject: I felt like the episode was one of the best so far. The Dougal & Claire scene at the spring was great - the way he so matter of factly explains how he knows she's telling the truth! And I think if anyone was watching who didn't know the story - they would have expected Dougal to be the one 'proposing'. I think the writers have done a good job of staying true to the gradually unfolding aspects of the book: the unexpected (to Claire) dangers of 18th century life (best to not be so free with your opinions lol) , what secrets Jamie had up his sleeve, how determined Claire was to get back home. If you get swept up in the episode its a tiny bit like reading it for the first time :-)

[> BJR really creeped me out with the lip twitches and such! Plus, the ideas Frank has about his ancestor and the reality of who/how he really is. Frank using his razor and it being a "oh my X great grandfathers" and BJR using it to threaten his aide. Plus getting the young guy (Hawkins? any relationship to Mary?) to kick Claire. Bad enough he is doing it, but he is teaching others the same. -- Kel, 16:01:01 09/15/14 Mon

His connection to the "beauty" he is making. URGH! That click when he becomes obsessed with Jamie.

And, it doesn't seem he knows WHO Jamie actually is - Dugal's nephew. He just thinks at this point Jamie is "the boy" he ran into at Lallybroch.
