Subject: I really enjoyed this episode, more so the 2nd time. I'm like the other poster who said the first go around I'm unintentionally watching to see the translation from book to screen. The 2nd time I'm relaxed and watching it more for entertainment. I think they are doing a really great job with the adaptation. The hour just flew by this time. I do with they would make the MacKenzie Brothers a bit more likeable, though, because I really liked them in the book. I also wish Rupert was bigger and heavier, more gentle giant like (when not in battle).

[> My sister, son and girlfriend watch the second episode, they all thought it was slow......this is what I was afraid of. I think we appreciate the pace, but not a lot of others. Also I think that whole comparing it to Game of Thrones totally changed peoples perceptions of what it was going to be. -- M-another-M, 11:52:08 08/20/14 Wed

[> [> I think you have a point about Game of Thrones. It's easy to make comparisons on two popular series of books in this cable format. I only read the first two GoT books, and really enjoy the series much more..probably due to Peter Dinklage, who I think is just awesome. I love the Outlander books much more than the GoT, and still enjoy them more than the series so far. I do think it's "slow", but of course we LOLers like that since we're dissecting and rewatching, but I can see how it viewership may drop of for those who haven't read the books. But...ebook sales have hit the NY times bestseller list, so obviously people are watching and liking it. It will be interesting to see the stats on the number of viewers each week. -- conmama, 05:14:30 08/21/14 Thu
