Subject: Samhain did bug me. Very much.
In reply to: Lemora 's message, "I really liked it --didn't quite love it. It's necessary to get used to the compression of events and all the stuff left out. I loved Mrs. Graham and the tea leaves scene. Also, the druids chanting at dawn were breathtaking. Interesting that in this, the upcoming Pagan day is Samhain and not Beltane, like the book. Also, I wanted to hear Jamie say, "Take the lassie off my chest and fetch me a clean shirt!" But, I'm still adjusting. It's very well done." on 00:48:00 08/02/14 Sat

[> [> Why change that, I wonder? What is the point in not leaving it the same as the book. Maybe it sounded more like "Halloween"? -- conmama, 05:23:07 08/04/14 Mon

[> [> [> The point was practicality. They started filming in autumn and were on location. Rather than push the shooting schedule back to spring they simply changed the seasonal setting. I knew it was coming so it didn't bother me too much. (I have been reading the interviews which is why I know the reasoning.) Can you imagine how difficult it would have been to pretend it was becoming summer in the highlands when it was in truth turning to winter? eek! -- Shads, 09:06:52 08/05/14 Tue
