Toby, in that case you should learn the art of to be humble to be bold. But that's supposed to be a joke. No offense, Mr Sun of a Beach.

But I must say that I think it is simply wrong to stereotype top students as bookworms or class monitor type of obediently boring people wearing inch-thick glasses. If you get to know them well, you will know that they are in fact far from that. What make them great is their ability to focus and their intensity for success, this is the thing loosers don't have and this is what make me admire them so much. So again, distinction or no distinction is no matter, it's just skin-deep indicator at best.

Well let me join you a bit with my humble philosophical comments. I think to be a 'whole being' with a real balanced life, it's much more than academic achievements. Toby and I had the fortune (misfortune!) to be educated in the UK. I saw a lot of goods and bads while we were there. Frankly I did pretty well at boarding school and subsequently at university whileas if I remained in HK and I would be struggling like hell. Conversely speaking, many came out weaker and bitter from boarding school. The experience of living away from HK also widen my perpectives in life. These positive experiences were not in an education program nor they are academic skills / achievements. Being smart or stupid, high or low IQ/EQ, honest or dishonest, sporty or couch potatoe, witty or boring, religious or atheistic, earning millions or barely gets by, and the list goes on...these things are remotely related to our academic experience. I cherish most of all our Wah Yan experience and the WY spirit that lives on that bond our deep friendship. life goes on :)
