It is actually around 7% or 8% if done before the first heat. It raises to 20% of all large breed females after the second heat.

One thing I have read is that in some cases cutting "whole grain" out of the dogs diet can clear spay incontinence up.

I think there are 2 different prescription drugs available plus an option of surgery. I have read that a lot of dogs that go under the knife get the incontinense back later on in life. The drugs are pretty effective but like any drug they do have side effects.
