Yes but here’s the difference and it's a big one, the AKC is not doing this UNKNOWINGLY but sought out Petland a known puppy miller and entered into a formal contract. Why did they do this for the millions of dollars that contract would produce. It is time we all understood, dogs are just considered products to the AKC. Again, please examine my post in its entirety and links provided. A small portion of that reply is below

"The AKC establishes conformation standards for each breed it registers, and it offers prizes, prestige, and financial success to breeders and owners who can produce dogs that look more like The Standard than any other dog in the ring that day. The AKC chooses the judges who decide which dog looks most like The Standard. The AKC decides which breeds are to be registered, assimilated, and codified into a Standard. The AKC is not interested in performance, they are not interested in high quality pets for the public, they are not interested in anything but squeezing the "pure-bred" dog into its own arbitrary mold".

The tenor of your original post was all the AKC does is register pedigrees. My response was they KNOWINGLY do and permit much more and provided proof of that. The AKC makes it know in no uncertain terms that if you want your breed to be recognized by the AKC, the first thing your breed club must give up is its autonomy.
