Andrew please consider this. There is a group that incorrectly believes that a large majority of all aberrant behaviors in dogs stem form husbandry, not selection. They believe this because it fits how and why they select there breed stock. Why do they believe that selection plays a very minor role in maintaining a traits/behavior in dogs? Because they have been convinced that genotypic traits are hardwired in a breed. e.g., all Labrador Retriever’s given the training can retrieve with the same focus and drive as there working counterpart. Therefore selection as a cause is the last thing considered. Norman
