I was able to speak to a reporter and glean a bit more info.

The dog's name is Max, he's seven years old and he recently moved with them from Phoenix Arizona.

The Dees have an unlisted number and the person I spoke to said he believed they were still at the hospital.

They have quite a number of dogs...not just the two others.
