Apparently, Mike, you can't read.
I said IF THIS DOG was beaten then the owner got what he deserved.
Why would I want the dog to attack someone who never abused it?
DUH.

But, my experience over the years in rescue has repeatedly shown me over & over again that most dogs who are kept in garages stand in knee deep crap, are fed and watered very little and are often abused.
And those types of dogs tend to be the dogs who maul their owners. Not 100% of the time, but a very high number of dogs who attack come from owners who cared for them poorly or abused them.
Contact any rescue, animal shelter or humane society and they'll tell you the same thing I am telling you.

My point was, IF this dog was abused, and my gut feeling is it was, then the owner deserved what he got.

However, if that wasn't what happened and the owner was innocent (although my rescue experience tells me that it's highly likely this is not the case) then the dog got what it deserved by being euthanized.

Everyone has seemed to miss the further point I was trying to make about breeders working in a concerted effort to try to help fix aggression problems in this breed.

How come everyone in this breed can bit*h, criticize and pick apart everything someone says or does, but when it coems time to come together and try to make something work, you hear crickets chirping and no one wants to roll up their sleeves and get to work??

I would be willing to work with anyone who is willing to get into the nitty gritty of this and start compiling records from as far back as can be found, and start tracking where these bad temperament genes are coming from & start making it public knowledge to everyone whose breeding, just exactly what they need to look for.

Will I be able to get a group of people to pitch in? Or will the cricket chirping prevail???

Michelle
