For years, most of the dog rescue people I know, have carried the belief, that when ever they get a dog that is afraid of men that it must have been abused by a man and the ones that were afraid of everybody were abused by their owners and the ones that were afraid of kids were abused by kids. If any of these dogs bit anyone it was for these same reasons. This is their belief and they passed that belief on to every unknowing person they could just to hear themselves talk, like they're experts, being involved in dog rescues/adoptions. Now there is a whole bunch of people out there who think that way. Im not saying that everyone who does dog rescue/adoptions is like this, but most of the one I know are.

Most of the dog trainers an breeders I know blame it on bad/unlucky breeding.

I've known some dogs that I know were not abused that were afraid of "all of the above" that when cornered or if you turned your back, would chew you a new a$$$$$hole.
Mostly they just cowered and barked.
