Back in 2001 I believe it was, 5 Dogue de Bordeaux in Ontario Canada, who had been trained in bite work with what I have been told was through harsh methods, such as beating them with batons, these dogues attacked & nearly killed the 12 yr old granddaughter of the lady who owned them.
These dogues were said to have never been abused or neglected, only that they has been used in bite work and in doing so, made them hot button dogs.

The local humane society here in MI where I am at, seized several Pit Bills last year (17 to be exact) from a local kennel who had been using them for "bite work". These dogs would attack anything, and we're said to have been fine before this bite work training was done, and that the manner they were trained was harsh and made the dogs agressive.

All these dogs were put down within 48 hours.

I know that bite work is not the devil. I also know that left in unqualified hands (and sadly there's alot of those unqualified trainers out there) menace dogs can and are created.
