Yeah.. that makes me a bit nauseous too.. and perplexed (as always).
I'm also a CGC Evaluator.. & that doesn't mean very much in the grand scheme of temperament evaluations.
I have male & female dogs bred FOR WORK that are proven to be quite capable of Protection & they get along fine with other dogs (because dog-aggression has nothing to do with a dog's want to fight a person). Hell, I can take my dogs into a dog park without being concerned... (not that dog parks are a great idea IMO). Most of the Police K9s I know are good with other dogs too.
The males are the fawn BB & Dutch Shep, & the bitches are the brindle BB & Bouvier.

I have friends who are "show breeders" & despite numerous discussions, I can never gleam WHY they would choose to breed a shadow of the dog's working counterpart, when the working counterpart is everything & more than the show counterpart? They all acknowledge that their show dogs aren't "real" Bouviers (etc) anymore, that the working dogs are.. then WHY do they produce them?? I just can't wrap my head around it.
The only thing I have been able to come up with that it's easier than what it takes to prove out a working dog, & you (the general "you") can sell more puppies..?
Like many others have said, there will be a split between the dogs that have the ability to Protect & those that are only good for Show. Much the same way that my friend who breeds Show Bouviers got a Bouv from us to protect her because she KNOWS none of her dogs would do anything if someone broke into her home.
At least she realizes it.. there have been break-ins / killings when people mistakenly believed what their (show) breeder(s) told them about the dog being able to protect them & they relied on a dog that hadn't been selectively bred for those traits. What I really can't stand personally is when breeders market their pups on abilities they don't even *try* to produce in their dogs.
I didn't see anywhere that Michelle claimed her BBs to be "protective" etc, just "we feel is important is a complete and correct South African Boerboel". Do you mind explaining what that is to you, Michelle?

And while "poking around", I bumped into this group:

Honest question: why do you want the BB recognized by both the UKC & AKC?
