I am no expert, but I do know that many top breeders do line breed. You have to really know what you are doing and there are specific rules to follow. You can breed a grandfather to a granddaughter but you can't breed a grandmother to a grandson. I have no idea as to why this is the case. I have also been told that you will either bring out the really good traits or you will enhance the flaws. Thus, you had better be prepared to cull. It is something that I would only trust the most scrupulous of breeders to do correctly. From what I have been told of S.African breeders, I wouldn't trust them to do it correctly or to cull the bad dogs.
