Who were the parents of your pup.. were they pre-screened for OCD before they were bred? (-For as much as buyers are paying for BB pups, they should demand better health-screening, IMO.)
OCD can just mean keeping the dog quiet OR it can mean surgery (which is what I've seen more often).
Whether it is common or not remains to be seen as not very many people/breeders are willing to openly discuss their dogs' faults & share information. I've seen quite a few cardiac problems in dogs from my area, for whatever that's worth.
Most pet insurance companies will have at least a 2-week gap between when you sign up & when the coverage starts.
Sorry your pup isn't feeling well, & hope you get her "right" again soon!
