Dan is saying is simple really. He is saying the dog is taking the opportunity to express your bed as being owned by him...not you. I don't necessarily agree with Dan's response, but he is not calling you a bitch.
In human terms..."bitch" means female jerk.
In dog terms..."my bitch" means my female.
Dan isn't using the word in human terms, but in dog terms. He isn't calling you a female jerk, but is saying the dog is claiming possession of your domain.
Dan is a decent guy...and certainly didn't mean to offend you. I know this because he said, "I don't mean this to be offensive, I mean it literally"...or something along those lines. Literally, the words mean female dog.
