Subject: Keeping BB on cement?

In the process of building a run/kennel about 9x18. Would it be ok for the dog if the floor was concrete? I know it will get hot in the summer so at least half will be in shade. Should be easy to clean, but is it hard on the dogs feet or do they do ok on cement? Would part grass/ part cement be better or the whole thing in cement? Thanks in advance.
