The pinch will not retrain or stop - ot will just prevent and can actually increase aggressions when the collar is off. I have known of and worked with more than one dog who this has happened to.

Though properly used, a prong can be a training aid for some dogs, this is not the situation to use it in.

Dog aggression and human aggression are also different traits - though dogs can have one, the other or both and in the heat of a rush, forget and redirect to a human.

The problem is replacing a desired behavior for the undesired and a prong does not do that. They are not great tools for true behavior modification in and of themselves. Corrections in this situation can build anxiety (frustration) and cause more issues in the long run - and that is the key - in the long run. Short term a prong may show signs it apprears to be working but long term, be making the situation worse.

Many trainers do things as they see short term results and assume it is working but they do not understand the long term ramifications let alone the hows and whys things work or may not.
