Thanks for a logical response. This is what I was getting at, I am looking to PREVENT any problems before they ever happen.
I already have a pad next to the house this is why I was looking for advice. I am not pouring new cement, I am just trying to make the most comfortable home for my dog. I like to have an extremely clean area for the dog and thought it might be good to have him out of the dirt. I was worried about the hard surface, I had considered covering it in a thick layer of wood chips, think this would be a good idea? Might provide cushion but also be very neat and clean.
