Subject: WAIT A MINUTE NOW PAM! Don't speak for me
In reply to: Pam 's message, "Re: Pam, lets see some videos of your "formal test"" on 11:19:20 08/12/07 Sun

The problems I saw in the video were decoy related. I honestly think Norman's dog Gordo is a great dog. Also notice in the video the dog did not go into avoidance. He simply hasn't been worked or stimulated in defense drive. To understand the limits of prey as exhaustable or "extinguishable", then one can realize the importance of balancing the training with some level of defense...and it appears to me that Gordo simply hasn't had that type of training in his program. Apparently you don't understand this. So, on that note, please don't speak for me. IMO, Gordo is still a great dog but simply needs to someone to tap into his defense drives in order to be reliable. I would gladly use Gordo in my own program in fact with the right bitch...and if the dog ran or went into avoidance I wouldn't say that. The dog simply was temperarily focussed on the other dog or the floor for a few momments. Perhaps you didn't notice but when the dog was on the bite he did fine with a full mouth. Again, a dog in avoidance wouldn't typically take a full mouth bite. Do you understand this? In the future, please don't speak for me by suggesting I said or saw the "same thing" when you apparently didn't know what you were looking at. Again, my problem was with the decoy.

Have a nice day.
