Subject: Batu at a Temp-Test (videos)

Despite being 5 days into her heat cycle, I was talked into bringing Batu out to a Schutzhund "Fun" Temperament-Test. Between Ness & Batu, I was met with many good-humored jests of club members yelling at us to "quit showing off". I was quite pleased with how my dogs did on the various obstacles, which included
A slick tarp lashed over 2 4" boards that had a 4" gap in between them, then set up on a steep incline (hope that description makes sense, unfortunately nobody took any video of the dogs on it. :( ) Basically, the dogs had to figure out that they couldn't step in the middle & had to maneuver up the slick 45 degree ramp without "bailing out". Not only did my dogs walk up this contraption, they also did a "sit" & "down" on the slippery planks. >;^)
I was particularly proud of how easily Batu took to the teeter-totter, once she figured out what I wanted! That teeter was only about 8" wide, too! I know there's no way *I* could've done it without falling on my @ss! LOL

The Wobble Board station is essentially a chunk of plywood suspended by a length of chain from each corner. And everybody got a chuckle out of trying to "cheat" by steadying the Wobble Board by sticking her back leg off it. :)

There was the obligatory "Umbrella" Station. *yawn*
A PVC archway that had tin cans draped over it & covering the ground on the entrance/exit that the dog had to walk through on it's own.
A bundle of plastic bottles & jugs that were tied together & the rope was thrown over a tree branch so that when the dog was walking towards the jugs, they would be jerked into the air.
A tent whose floor was littered in plastic bottles, where the dog had to go retrieve a tug. LOL -Bill's Dutchie pup "Taku" was so happy to be in the shade, he decided to stay IN the tent!

A wheelbarrow that the dog was to be coaxed to hop up in, then lay down & be pushed around. Ness loved being in the barrow (she beat me to it & jumped in before I even got there), but she wasn't such a fan of my driving & got squirmy! (Sorry, no video of this one!)
Too many more tests to list!
Hope you enjoy the videos, Tashi
