Norman , i spent three days working woth a group (seminar) discussing the merits of using food in training , irregardless of the breed.
I talked about "shapeing " the exercis with food , & rewarding with the toy to build drive for the learning stage , if using food aas the reward if it worked better for non-toy interested dogs.
It was working for most of the dogs. Some of the dogs were very difficult to motivate as well as encourage to take food or the toy.
I emphasized , that many dogs that were not food or toy motivated , had to be taught to be , for either & I spoke on how to do this.
I emphasized the chase work to teach the work for the toy, & the food(food , feeding , meals ) manipulation to build the want for the food used in training. I'm surprised that the the "food/ aggression " staement is still on the website. I was asked the question about such .
