Thanks Sheena, as you can see i'm handicapped with the technology :)

I too am curious, but I try to keep my expectations minimal so as not to cloud my perception of the eventual reality.
What we will get in an f1 cross remains to be seen. What I anticipate, in any event, is a dog that may prove useful on a farm. Whether that is a more obedient less roamy livestock guardian. Or a leggier, healthier, less needy boerboel with better eyesight, or some other splitting of the differences, I simply can't imagine getting a dog that wouldn’t be tolerant of livestock and of use in some sort of family/farm guarding application.

In any case, as with any f1 cross, there is always the possibility of breeding back to one breed or the other to get the desired balance. If I was a betting man I’d anticipate a 3/4 quarter boerboel, 1/4 Kangal would be about right as and all around farm and livestock guardian for me personally. But no two farms are alike no two owners have the same ideal dog in mind. And THAT is the beauty of crossing the lines and breeding to suit.

I will say this though, having done quite a few f1's now and those pups do tend to be more consistent both physically and temperamentally than people would have you believe; it's not at all the "oil and water" scenario i've heard many a pure bred breeder speculate about. I think the variation counter intuitive as it may be actaully goes up with f2's f3's and such.

Anyway, i'll be keeping a pair and i've got local friends w/farms who want em, so I should be able to get first hand feedback on a quite a few. Feel free to give me a buzz at a later date and I'll let you know how they turned out.
