Yes it did come as some of a suprise, but we had not gone and stayed overnight anywhere for awhile and so I was really not expecting it. The afternoon that we arrived my mom came to me and told me that the boy was a bedwetter and would be wearing diapers and rubber pants in bed. I felt odd that mom had had this conversation with her friend because then her friend knew that I also would have rubber pants on in bed. But when he was ready for bed he came out to say goodnight wearing a t-shirt diapers and rubber pants. Later when I was getting ready for bed and was pulling on the rubber pants I thought about the fact that there were 9 years separating the 2 that had rubber pants on in bed. There was nothing said the next morning about either of us being dry or wet although his rubber pants were hanging to dry on the shower handle in the bathroom. No I did not know if it would be the last time I had to wear the rubber pants, but I hoped so.
