Subject: Modeling Contracts

This is a reminder to contestants and their executive directors about prior contractual commitments in the Miss MD contract. Below is paraphrasing from the contract that was required to be signed by all contestants:

Within the 3 months before my participation in my first local or state competition and since then, I have not authorized any person, firm or corporation to use my name, photo, or picture in connection with an endorsement to advertise any commercial product.

In other words, if you have a modeling contract, you may not compete at Miss MD.

[> [> Subject: No one is trying to "get rid of the competition" or be "petty" here. This sounds like a genuine inquiry, and a reasonable one at that considering that Sherry Rush has a propensity to enforce rules she makes up out of no where (like if the winner of Miss MD is found out to have a full time job, be going to school full time, or god forbid she's going to school out of state, "she will be stripped of her crown the next day") yet she fails abide by the ones formally written in the contract.

[> Subject: This is simply not true. If a young lady has a modeling contract with Crest to be featured in theirs ads promoting their product, then no, she can't compete. Signed with an agency? That's fine. In a photo campaign for a mall? Fine. You just can't be contractually bound to a specific commercial product.

[> Subject: I doubt anyone will care. The latest MissMD broke several contractual and organization rules prior to being crowned and during competition and was still permitted to compete. Sad that most of our girls work so hard, stress over their social media and resumes, drive themselves crazy trying to meet MMO deadlines and still people who blatantly disregard everything are rewarded.
