I completely agree about Joanna - although I do know that the conflicting expectations of the Miss Maryland board made the year difficult on her academically (for an organization that is supposed to be about scholarship). We have had five winners since Joanna, and intelligence or academic drive have not been salient qualities of these recent titleholders. -- Miss Maryland Talk Board

Cristina nailed her interview but other than that....Hannah is smart, if you are a GI, she is right at that level. She definitely appeals to her base.
