In reply to: me 's message, "I have no idea how she won BUT I am wishing Kathleen all the best anyway. I hope she has an amazing experience at Miss A. Stranger things have happened. What in the world did she put in her resume to make her eligible for the women in business award finalist status? I heard her 40+ year old BF (that she lives with, and who used to be her employer) may have helped with this. If he has enough money to make it happen, she may make it to finals or even win it all. I have been watching Miss Maryland for a while, hoping they were getting smarter, no luck. She did not have even 1/16 the talent that most contestants display at the state competition this year (yes, I was there). She may be a pretty face, but she is NOT a DANCER and her win is an insult to dancers who have actually studied and worked at their craft not only in MD but in other states as well. Shame on you MD, you picked the wrong girl. Here is hoping enough fans give her the cold shoulder for the duration. People who are not actual fans of the current Miss MD who keep liking all of her stupid and vapid posts...stop it. Why do you do it? Does it make any difference to you (like will you win next year if you "support" her? If you don't agree she should have won, why kiss her butt? Just don't comment or "like" everything she does. Stop it. Silence will speak for itself when she is left there hanging all alone. She did not deserve this title, she bought it. MD fans, wake up. She might just win the crown, but if she does....she is buying it because you are not going to see a coherent on stage answer, or a viable talent. Just a good swim suit body and hopefully at least a good gown walk. Yay, Miss America is becoming what it has been accused of being "just a beauty pageant" . So to hell with brains and talent. They would be better off only competing in that: beauty and fitness...done and done. Stop pretending to have more substance than you actually do. My prediction: watch and learn, this is how you buy a title.

Honestly, this is nothing new. The year Destiny was a finalist for Quality of Life was also a joke. She did very little with her platform until AFTER she won Miss Maryland (and this is from someone in the know). It's a slap in the face when some girls work so hard on this kind of thing and then someone wins an award like this when they have done nothing, just because the Board knows all the right things to say in the paperwork. It really makes the whole competition a joke. They need to give credit where credit is due and not just allow people to get away with lying on paperwork.

not a tiger???

So, wait, isn't she a student at Towson? I heard her say it clearly in her intro at MD pageant. "a junior tiger at towson university..." so she does not have at least 48 to 50 undergraduate credits? Someone please enlighten me. As a college graduate with intimate knowledge of how many credits one needs to achieve each status, at a minimum 12 credit per semester, junior status is achieved with 48+ credits, Senior status with 70-72+
So, did she falsify her resume/application? I'm pretty sure there is a signature portion where each contestant certifies they are providing accurate and true information...maybe there needs to be an audit. If she lied about that...what else did she lie about.
Please, how many of these girls pad their resume? Does "I gave a quarter to a beggar once" really turn into "I created a non-profit that builds houses for homeless veterans" Oh my goodness!

varies, your estimate is low

Actually, yes that would be barely enough credits, you're being generous. It varies by institution, most actually require closer to 60 for junior status and 90 for senior. Mostly because it takes 120-130 credits to graduate, so divide by 4 and thats how you know.
Anyway, it's more about how she misrepresents herself to be better on paper than she is. However, that's an indication of her lack of integrity and stretching some truths. Out and out lying, only those who know her personally can say. She just isn't the best Maryland had to offer this year.
I just saw her talent on youtube...oops. It is embarrassingly bad. She even looks like she forgets part of her very simple routine. NOT a dancer. Pretty costume though. Here is hoping we don't have to watch this on the national stage...not sure MD could recover from being so blind. I think the judges who picked her might need to never be asked to judge another pageant again. It definitely makes them look bad. Maybe someone didn't know how to do math?

Sherry said same to all four Runner ups...who knows what the truth is, only Sherry knows, maybe the auditor. The judges looked confused, but when a win makes sense, most eventually quiet down. This was so obviously messed up, that it is hard for people to let it go I guess. Now that her talent video is on youtube...more people are confused again. Time will tell.
