My daughter competed years ago in MDOT, and did not place, but was very successful in other systems that also focused on similar criteria as the MAO. I come back to this board each year, and it is so disturbing to me how truly mean some of you are. I do not know Kathleen, and quite frankly, it doesn't matter. As an adult, I hope that if nothing else, I have taught my children to be kind, and when they feel they have been "cheated" to take it as a life lesson and grow from it. Life isn't fair, that is a reality. To me, when I think about any "Miss State", it is MOST important to me that she is kind, compassionate, and somebody who will take the time to make an effort to be a positive role model. Sometimes that means learning from a mistake, or working hard to better yourself from circumstances that you overcame. That is the definition of a "Queen" in my eyes. For those of you tearing this woman apart, and encouraging people to basically "boycott" her, I truly hope you are NOT contestants in this program. For you to be so vicious, and truly mean, and encouraging cyber bullying clearly shows that you do not have the maturity to wear that crown. Maybe the judges saw through to who you really are last year in interview, and if that's the case I can see why you didn't win. I understand we grow and mature as we age, but clearly you do not live the "four points of the crown". Please realize that what you are saying about this woman (who until she won, seemed to be very well liked)is causing a hurt within her that will always be there. How would you feel if some random person attacked you on a voyboard. This is a pageant, not the Presidency, and we have all competed in pageants that we felt unhappy about the end result, but it isn't OK to anonymously slander a woman because you're mad she won a crown. At the end of the day, you need to self-reflect, and try to better yourself by being a nicer more genuine person. Until you can take defeat and learn to persevere, you will always be fighting a battle with somebody somewhere. I will say a prayer for you, that you find some clarity. At the end of the day, you spewing hatred on a voyboard clearly shows why she has a crown, and you don't.
