I don't think you would be too old to start ballet. Dancers in their tweities dance en pointe and do just fine, so why cant you learn at nineteen. However, you mentioned that you danced from years 8-12. Usually girls arent allowed to go en pointe until they are at least twelve or thirteen, because the bones in the foot have not developed enough yet. I've danced for years and i've never heard of someone that young in pointe shoes. So how could you be so good in pointe shoes, never having danced in them? You have to have a minimum of four years experience in regular ballet to even have your teacher consider getting you in pointe shoes.
