Subject: Results and more

First off, I would like to say that on behalf of everyone at NSD we want to wich Jay Casey a very speedy recovery. Last update we heard, ha had a few broken ribs, a possible dislocated shoulder, and was heading to the CAT scan for some additional tests, but was in stable condition. If anyone has hospital information for folks that want to send well wishes, please post, I didn't get that info last night.

For those that will undoubtedly be curious, no one seems to be exactly sure what happened, but Jay lost control of the Nova just pass the finish line and hit the right guardrail and was sent catapaulting and barrel rolling in to the shut down area. For anyone that saw it, you know it was a very dramatic crash and we are very, very lucky that Jay appears to have just a few broken bones. I would also like to thank the EMT at NSD, the crew, and the racers that leapt into action to get to Jay and get the medical attention he needed after the accident.

In regards to the racing, we battled the hottest day of the year and saw some great action. Here are the results from last night:

Austin Williams def Rick Huffman in S/pro, with Chase Huffman and Scott Wallace losing in the semis.

Steve Tate def John Long Jr in No/E, and I apologize, I do not remember the one semi-finalist.

Eric Sandlin def Daryl Hamlin in Q OW, with Chris Eidson and Mike Crader losing in the semis

Scott Babbitt def Riley Howard in Q DS, with Melissa Carrell and Leslie Dugas going out in the semis

Jake Pitt def Monty Huckabee in Q NE, and sorry once again, the lone semi-finalist has slipped my mind.

Max McGlothin def Jake Howard in WindStar 2nd Chance, with David Brodnax losing in the semis.

As I said yesterday at the track, I want to thank everyone who braved the conditions to come and race yesterday. I know there are a lot of things you could have been doing rather than braving the 100+ temps to do some racing, and we appreciate your continued support of NSD and our Summit ET program. We look forward to seeing everyone next time, and when the track receives any updates on Jay, I will pass them along here.

Thanks

Nick
