"This post went from a suggestion by a racer so they could race more at our local track and bring in more $$$ and maybe more racers....(more inside)"

You make it sound like were jumping on Janie for asking this? Janie asked for inputs of other racers who run the class and we are giving it to her. Our argument is it would hurt the class and take away racers and $$$.

"I say allow 2steps in NO E but also no beable to earn points(like Janie said) and make a rule also where if a car with/without a 2step has uncharacteristic consistent reaction times as well as anything else seems out of the ordinary the track has the right to do tear down withput a protest being made...."

This would be to hard to regulate, you think the tracks are going to take the time to look at each and every 2-step racers runs. You going to make everyone sign a paper that says you run a two-step? I launch my car at 2800 on footbrake. I sometimes launch mine at 3000 on the 2step in electronics, you going to be able to tell the difference between sounds of 200rpms?

"Also i do believe the classes in NHRA uses for the summit super series finals are Super Pro, Pro(No E fast), and Sportsman(no e slow) so the class by NHRA is not classified as "footbrake" or No Electronis"..."

First NHRA doesn't have a summit super series that is 2nd Pro is a No Box class in some NHRA divisions. There is no "no/e quick" only the slow cars are strictly no electronics. From racers in D7 whom I have spoke with over the years they said the switch hurt the car counts. Racers either jumped ship, or went straight electronics racing. Only the ones who started recently like the "no box" rules.

I have alot of respect for Janie, she does what some footbrake racers would only dream of doing and it is great she wants to bring some of the stock/Super Stock guys into the local tracks. However, I do not see a switch like this being an effective move for this area. It has been brought up to the division directors before with little or no support.

I hooked my 2-step up for a DRR race to give it a shot one time. It didn't really change anything other than I leave off my finger rather than my foot which made me quicker but it is still much different than leaving on the top bulb with a box. Is it an advantage? I can't say yes or no, does it open the doors for alot of "cheating" well anyone would agree yes. Why put that extra burden on the track and the racers?
