Hi Alinda!
I would just like to thank you for having THE BEST Fukuyama site on the net. I was so surprised when I found it! I have been a fan of Fire Bomber (& shortly after Humming bird & Chie) since 1995. And I can safely say I have NEVER seen a site as informative & as up to date as yours. Most of the small Humming Bird sites disappeared shortly after their disbandment, & I had pretty much given up EVER finding any info on them again...& then I discovered your MAGNIFICENT site. Hosting new info on the band today & now I am eagerly anticipating Fukuyama's next release...I was saddened by Humming Bird's disbandment greatly (beacuse they are one of my fave bands & after FBomber was through I was hoping they would have many more albums.) Also because I felt UNSWEET was the PEAK of their career ^_^ I could only hope it would continue in that direction & I hope that Fukuyama's new solo career will be similar (ie: rockin', Queen influenced, & as solid as ever...)
What ever happend to Chie Kajiura? I have heard that she became pregnant a few years back & has just basically retired & has written a song or 2 for others since then...I miss her greatly as well...
I purchased the MACROSS THE TRIBUTE cd this past weekend in NYC & I have to say that Fukuyama's cover of MACROSS is by far the best song on there (very late-Humming Bird-rock-out senseability!) & I hope that his solo career stays in this direction! It is worth the price of the cd for that song alone. The others are okay (I have met Mari Iijima in person ((NICE GIRL!)) & she covers "Angel Voice" although it is over the "Radio Fire karaoke version" with no "whoa's" at the end & a new guitar solo instead. Also the "Voices" cover is also a sung over karaoke & is too close to the original. Hinobu's cover of "Planet Dance" is okay, as well as the "Love You" & "Do you Remember Love" cover. "Seventh Moon" & "My Boyfriend's A Pilot Now" may be too out-there, or not close enough to the originals for some...Fukuyama's "Macross is by FAR the best. Arigatou Fukuyama-san!
Just wanted to let you know about the tribute disc, but most of all thank you for your wonderful sight and please continue to update it, you do all of us Fukuyama fan's the best service we could ever ask for and you are very much appreciated by this fan. ^_^
Thank you.
Chris
