Subject: RP Keets from Claude at VOO

Bought two to add to my small aging guinea flock. One of them Puh-Tracked at me today!

My older RP hen is now brooding a nest in full sun since the hostas that were shading it have been trampled. Her nest is near their pen and she protested mightily when I first put protection around her (a vinyl coated wire compost enclosure with top), but she accepts it well now. Snakes can still get in, but nothing else unless it is quite strong. Hoping she'll be successful in about 23 days now. I've put up what shade protection I can for her, but she was so rattled by anything going on near her, I haven't yet been able to fully protect her from the sun.

She's my most persistent brooder, but I've always had to break up her nests before because they were in very dangerous places, so she had a LOT of trouble trusting me at all at first.
