I can't remember ever reading anything about hydrated lime before, but I vaguely remember my Grandpa using something white all over his dog pen, especially after pups were whelped. I bet it was hydrated lime. Couldn't have cared less as a kid. LOL

Never paid much attention to it for gardening since I can't grow hair on a monkey. Plus our soil is very alkaline here so we are always trying to lower the PH.
