Subject: What do your birds walk on?

Mine go from wire brooders to four pens with deep shavings. At first I was crazy enough to be changing those shavings every other month. Now I have realized with a little DE and refreshing I can go months. I still have one large pen that is mostly my pea fowl on just dirt. I would love to use that pen from my extra chickens and allow John's dove the upper parts. I can hardly do the shavings in it due to the fact it can get pretty wet so I stay with dirt.

All this talk of lime makes me want to ask what type of pens we mostly have??? Dirt, shavings, wire, or free ranging most of the day?

AND YES Frank...your birds walk on thier feet. LOL
