well.. if in the silkie house any hatched chicks are on dirt some hay = mostly hard packed dirt.
if in the guinea house chicks hatched are on wood with shavings and then the other side they have access to, and they will also have hard wire... till they fly about then they will be in guinea house floor area, shavings or straw wood floor, until brave to go outside in the dirt with all the other critters
