I am feeling your pain on the hot hatching hut deal man.

You have already probably thought of this but maybe you could get one of those light timers and put it in the hatching hut to turn the A/C on for you in the morning at a set time. I use them in the barn to turn on and off my chick heaters and my hen stalls. My layers are under lights in the fall to keep them laying just a little longer. Then I shut them all down at the same time in hopes that it will force them to all molt together, ha!

I am struggling this year with heat. It is 105 in my barn in the shade. The guineas are laying very poorly too. This the FIRST time I have even encountered this poor laying situation in guineas. Anyone with me on this? Claude says his are all laying fine. You KNOW it is bad when I am out buying up keets from everyone....LOL....Last year I only bought 50 from Winters, hatched the rest that I needed to sell. This year I have already ordered and/or bought over 200 keets from other sources! ('course frying 80 in the sportsman didn't help matters either!)

Always something new to deal with.

PS - Lyn, now she is my kind a gal. Butcher a pig, change clothes and drive home all in one day. Wow. What a woman.
