Subject: cayenne pepper as a pasty butt cure?

I have a few cases of pasty butt in my chicks (thinking of Frank as I wrote that). And, I normally just wash the hineys until the problem corrects.

Someone today told me that she sprinkles a little bit of cayenne pepper in their water (and it does not mix well). But she does not have a problem with pasty butt.

Anyone heard of this solution?
