I have found that selling chicks as stright run is better because if your able to pull the pullets the roosters are hard to get rid of. Personally I can tell the differance when they either start to lay or crow. For egg production for me the sex links works best, and you can tell them apart at hatching, the roosters are differant color than the pullets. Just my opinion for what its worth, which I realize its not much
