Kelly,

A background image, as well as color, can be set in the Forum Display Configuration area. Additionally, you may include text and HTML in the forum description (in the General Configuration), and the Footer (in the Forum Display area).

These areas allow you to put in your own text or HTML which may contain IMG tags, color changes, tables, etc. To do any of this requires some knowledge of HTML. One site that contains some basics on HTML and javascript is HtmlGoodies.com.

Regarding music, this is advanced and usually requires knowledge of JavaScript. I would recommend you first read a little bit about javascript, perhaps at the above site (or searching in a search engine for "javascript tutorial"); second, you should find a page that plays music automatically, and view the source of that page.

I hope this helps, but keep in mind that including your own code usually requires a bit of experience with that code, in this case HTML and perhaps javascript. Additionally, for music, it requires that you place the music file of choice somewhere on the WWW so you may access it with your javascript.

Good luck!

Sincerely,
Brandon
