Dear Soul,

Sadly, that's to be expected. The messages were lost prior to the backup/rebuild -- probably they were lost one or two days ago when you had some posts which caused a rotation. The archive bug would rotate out messages into the archives, but it would place 1 message into the archive, then rotate, then 2 messages into the archive, rotate, then 3, etc. It sounds almost organized, but the incremental effect is really a lucky side-effect of the actual nature of the bug.

If you don't make backups of your archives, you should do so periodically, especially around the times that we say we are planning on placing the beta version online. In the future we will try to make a clear announcement one or two days in advance (in the Support and News forums).

Sincerely,
Brandon
