Soul has a good point. "Earliest" removes threads based on their position in the forum (not sorted by date). This could be beneficial because the "Oldest" option may be expiring out those threads with the invalid thread-activity time in them. By the way, I just modified the Main Index & Archive -> Expire which threads first option's help so it may make more sense.

I am working on the problem of threads in archives not relocating into the main index.
