Dear Tom,

While we don't provide permanent storage, you can set up to 10 archives of messages. You can currently set your own maximum number of messages in your forum's main index -- you can set messages to a maximum of 800, and threads to a maximum of 600. When either of these limits is reached messages will be moved into the archives. This gives you a total of 10 * 800 messages, or 10 * 600 threads maximum in your entire forum.

We recommend forum owners wishing to keep their messages permanently make copies of their messages themselves -- this can be handy because archives 2 and up can be set so they don't change, so you can get a copy of your messages for "permanent" archival.
