Subject: Forum not asking for password

I use my forum (12236) to post updates to my website, so it's set to require a password to post (since it's strictly for site updates I want to be the only one able to post to it). It's been working just fine until today - I went to post something on it, and the "new post" form does not ask for a password. I checked to make sure it hadn't been reset to use a cookie to remember my password, and it hadn't. Any idea why it's suddenly letting me post without it?
