Subject: Enter the stoat

*A stoat stumbles along, eyes covered in a filmy haze, froth at the corners of his mouth, and dressed in rags. The only thing he seems to posess is a chain one yard in length with round weights on the ends, which he has wrapped around his right forepaw, more as a weapon than an encumberance. He suddenly stops and screeches into the night air before launching into a fevered monologue* Aye! Ye think ye're a grand ole bunch, don't ye? *he laughs long and loud* Well, they'll show ye! Indeed they shall! Ye've never seen someone die until ye've seen 'em hanged by their parents' entrails, no! Oh yes, show ye they shall! A pestilence, some call it! Pestilences be states of mind, aye they do! Ye can never call yerself truly secure when they be's a commin' *he laughs loudly again before falling onto the ground, convulsing violently while vomiting up blood and bile, and passing out, his face being a blusih-black with yellow splotches around his lymph nodes*

*upon awakening, he looks around, finding himself in a strange room*They be's a comin' fer me, aye! They'll not take this'n! *instantly leaps out of his bed, swinging a fist at the heads of any in his way as he dashes out the door and down the corridor. After about ten yards, he falls over, his back arched, eyes rolled back into his head, stone dead.
