Hey yall! I am 15 years old and I am just now gettin started in pageants. My first one is this Sunday. I am uncertain how to do my hair. I have thick hair that is shoulder length, it is manageable ( I wear it down every day ). My mom suggests I wear it down because my hair is firey red! I didn't know what to do. To describe my dress- strapless with beads across the chest area ( diamonds ) and then it is not form fitting, and touches the ground. * white * thank you for any help. Pictures or links to pageant hair do's will be much appreciated!

Girls your age tend to wear their hair down in a simple "barbie" (brushed over from a side part and either turned under on the ends or flipped out on the ends depending on which looks best on you and your hair). Older girls (16 or 17 and up) often wear their hair slicked back in a tight chignon on the nape of the neck but only do this if your face is fabulous and perfectly shaped. You might want to roll your hair briefly on large hot rollers, tease lightly all over and then brush out almost all of the teasing to give your hair some "body" or volume if it is very flat. Otherwise, I think you are on the right track! Just do not wear very dark or red lipstick (like you would in a theatre play) because it is very unflattering. Stick to a pretty pink or coral shade that looks good with your complexion. (Go to Walk slowly and elegantly with your very best posture. Maintain eye contact with the judges and smile, smile, smile! Look like you are having the time of your life and congratulate everyone else - win or lose! Good luck!
