dying a dress help needed

I am getting ready to dye a dress for my grandaughter and need help. Can anyone tell me how to use Apple Barrel Paint? I found the color pool blue in the craft dept at Walmart. The sales clerk did not know what textile med. Is this in the paint dept? How is it sold? The paint comes in two ounce bottles and eight ounce bottles. How much of each will I need for the dress?

I plan to do a coorinating color for the bustle and shorter top layer of the skirt...how much will I need for this?

My grandaughter has been doing pageants for about three years and loves it. This will be the first pageant dress I have made. It is nice to be able to find a place to come for guidance and help. Most people don't have a clue what you are talking about when you try to describe pageant clothes.
