It took us 5 pageants before my granddaughter won a title. After each pageant we would ask the director for her scores and find out where she was lacking. It was fustrating at times but the number one reason was her dress it was an "older style" with beads and appliques. We did not have a lot of money so we had someone make the shell of the dress and we have been designing with stones (crytal onyl) since then. We just order more and then apply and when we get more money we get more stones. The first time she wore the dress she won and it won best dress at the last pageant. So my advice is get her a good dress and go from there. Good luck
