Subject: stinky yarn???

I had some yarn given to me. One bag had been stored in a shed and it has a musty smell. Is it possible to get the smell out? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I have had some things like that and I sealed a bounce fabric softener sheet in the bag and left it for a week or so. It usually works.

Perhaps using some of that All spray (other brands, also) for removing fabric odors might work? ;-) CM2

I got some yarn like that last year and put it in a cooler with BBQ charcoal in the bottom, layered the yarn, then more charcoal on top and left it closed up for a couple days. It didn't get dirty from the charcoal and all the smell was gone.

Thanks for the help. I am going to try them all. I am sorry I didn't reply sooner but have been at the hospital with my husband since Sunday morning.
